Dear Friends and Partners,
The following is copied and shared with permission and reflects a deeply personal perspective forged amid the daily suffering and sacrifice caused by the war in Ukraine. This update is offered to inform and encourage your prayerful support for all who are affected by this tragedy.
If you would like to help us with humanitarian aid efforts you can donate through our website https://ipministry.org/donate/. The needs are growing as we keep helping thousands of people to move west within Ukraine and also helping those who want to leave the country temporarily. We need funds most of all for gas, but also for food and various supplies (medical, bed linens, mattresses, etc). Thank you.

Update from Maia :
Help us get shoes for internally displaced kids!
A few days ago I shared with you, friends, our idea to help kids who are internally displaced with shoes. When the war started on Feb 24th it was still winter and many fled from their homes with just the clothes on their backs and small backpacks with documents. Now it’s springtime, and the weather is getting too warm for winter boots.
Thank you for your generous gifts that are allowing us to start buying shoes for kids. We will be able to buy at least 3,000 pairs of shoes ($10-15/a pair), but hoping we can do many more! We have started distributing shoes in Lviv and Cherkasy. By the end of the week, we will be able to do it in Uman as well. These three cities where we have our partnering churches have become hubs for internally displaced and refugees moving west. We will also get shoes for Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa to be distributed to families in need.
We have been hearing from our Lviv and Cherkasy staff that people are amazed that they are getting new shoes for their kids. There are some used clothes and shoes arriving in Lviv to be distributed and it is very helpful. But getting a new pair of shoes feels special!
We know in most parts of the world you are celebrating Easter this Sunday. In Ukraine, we go by the old Orthodox calendar and our Easter comes next Sunday. We want to distribute many kids’ shoes next week. We want to share the gospel, the Message of Hope as well as show that God cares about every person, every child as a Father.
If you would like to be a part of this initiative, you can donate through our website with a special designation for kids’ shoes. We will continue distributing shoes not just during the Easter week. About 7 million Ukrainians are internally displaced. 30% to 50% of those 7 million are children.
