Dear Friends and Partners,
The following is copied and shared with permission and reflects a deeply personal perspective forged amid the daily suffering and sacrifice caused by the war in Ukraine. This update is offered to inform and encourage your prayerful support for all who are affected by this tragedy. Thank you.

“Another night of war is coming. We are now in a bomb shelter, hearing explosions.
We understand that Belarus might join Russia tonight in its war against Ukraine. Before the war Russian propaganda kept pushing the myths of Ukrainians, Belarussians, and Russians being brotherly nations or even one people. Hearing about Belarus considering ganging up with Russian aggressors Ukrainians are joking that it’s good that we only have two “brotherly nations”.
War horrors continue. Ukrainian cities are being bombed. Last night Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk were hit – those two cities are considered Western Ukraine. Kharkiv, Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, suburbs of Kyiv are under ongoing enemy fire. Our army is holding them from advancing on the ground, but the planes and rockets hit us from the sky. Casualties among civilians grow daily. In Mariupol people are buried in mass graves – there is no time to identify the bodies. As I scroll through my FB newsfeed I see people’s pleas for prayers for those cities. Russian barbarians continue refusing to allow humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians in many of the places where their bombings of residential areas did the most damage.
Ukrainians continue to cry out to the world for help and we continue crying out to God for His protection. The song in this post is from our Sunday worship service 11 days before the war. We were singing this prayer for Ukraine, asking God for His forgiveness and His mercy. 11 days before the war foreign Embassies already evacuated from Kyiv and we heard that the war was imminent. We knew then and we know now that we have nowhere to run, except with prayers to God. https://www.facebook.com/1132635517/videos/705845220784882/
LORD, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.
2 Chronicles 20:6.
Please, keep covering us with your prayers, especially Sasha and Nikita and their soon-to-be-born daughter. Keep praying for Ukraine!” ~Maia
